1. Who this policy covers

Washing Bells is a laundry and dry-cleaning pickup-and-delivery service operated by Washing Bells Laundry Pvt. Ltd. ("Washing Bells", "we", "us" or "our"). This Privacy Policy applies to your use of:

• the Washing Bells customer app (com.washingbells.app);
• the Washing Bells Rider app (com.washingbells.rider), used by delivery partners;
• the Washing Bells Store app (com.washingbells.store), used by partner stores; and
• our website at washingbells.com.

We currently operate in Zirakpur and the surrounding Tricity area. By using our apps or website, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to run the service and complete your orders.

Information you give us

• Account details — your name, mobile number, and (optionally) email address, created when you sign up. We verify your mobile number with a one-time password (OTP).
• Addresses — the pickup and delivery addresses you save for your orders, including building, flat/house number, and any delivery notes.
• Order information — the items, services, schedules, special instructions, and order history associated with your account.
• Support communications — messages, calls, ratings, and feedback you send us.

Information collected automatically

• Location — with your permission, your device location, used to find your address and assign nearby pickup/delivery (see Section 4).
• Device & app data — device model, operating system version, app version, and a push-notification token so we can send order updates.
• Usage & diagnostics — basic logs and crash/diagnostic data that help us keep the apps stable and secure.

Payment information

Payments are handled by our third-party payment processors. We do not store your full card number, CVV, or UPI credentials on our servers. We may retain a transaction reference, the amount, and payment status to manage your orders, refunds, and invoices.

4. Location data

The customer and rider apps request location access to make pickup and delivery accurate. In the customer app we use location to auto-fill and confirm your address; in the rider app we use the delivery partner's location to route pickups and deliveries and to share live order tracking with customers.

Location access is always optional and controlled by your device permissions. You can change or revoke it at any time in your phone's settings — the apps will continue to work, but you may need to enter addresses manually.

5. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the service:

• Delivery partners (riders) receive the name, address, and contact number needed to complete your pickup and delivery.
• Partner stores receive the order details needed to process your laundry.
• Service providers — such as payment processors, cloud hosting, SMS/notification, and analytics providers — process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
• Legal & safety — we may disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or the public.
• Business transfers — if Washing Bells is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. After you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep certain records (for example, invoices and transaction records for tax, accounting, or legal compliance), which we retain only for the period required by law.

• Access & update — view and edit your profile, addresses, and order details in the app.
• Notifications — manage push and SMS preferences in the app and your device settings.
• Permissions — grant or revoke location and notification access in your device settings.
• Delete your account & data — request full deletion at any time (see below).

We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and secure, reputable cloud infrastructure. OTP-based sign-in means we never store an account password. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your data and will notify you of significant incidents where required by law.

10. Children's privacy

Washing Bells is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
